2026 SOFTBALL PLAYOFF RULES

  1. All games are 8 innings long. Ties in the preliminary round are possible. Wins are worth 2 points; ties are worth 1 point.
  2. Home Team: The home team is the team with the higher regular season record.

    In the semifinals of the A Pool playoff, the home team is the team with the higher playoff preliminary round ranking.

    In the final, the home team is determined by a coin flip.
  3. Advancement: The top 4 teams of the A Pool preliminary round advance to Sunday. The top 2 teams of the B Pool preliminary round advance to Sunday.
  4. Extra-Inning Rule Sunday Only:
    • A team starts with the runner that was last out on second base and one out.
    • NO pinch runner is allowed for this runner.
    • You must hit from the point of the batting order where you left off after the 8th inning.
    • You may score a maximum of 5 runs.
  5. No team will play more than two games in a day.
  6. Tiebreakers: Ties in the standings are broken as follows, among all tied teams:
    1. Head-to-head playoff record among all tied teams.
    2. Runs allowed divided by innings defended.
    3. Runs scored divided by innings batted.
    4. Head-to-head regular season record.
  7. No player can play on two different teams.
  8. Only QUALIFIED players are allowed to play.
  9. No call-ups are allowed in a playoff game.
  10. Catcher will be supplied only if a team has 8 players.
  11. Supplied catcher does not make plays at home.
  12. ZERO tolerance for arguing between teams.
